The mission of the Midwest Fjord Horse Club (MWFHC) is to promote high quality versatile Fjord horses, encourage their use in any discipline, educate people about the Fjord horse and promote fellowship among Fjord enthusiasts.
The MWFHC began in 1993 with 59 members. As of March 2010, we have 202 voting members from 14 states and Canada. Membership in the MWFHC is open to all interested individuals, whether they own Norwegian Fjord Horses or not.
Events sponsored by the MWFHC include the annual Fjord Horse Evaluation, the annual Spring Meeting and Clinic and the annual Summer Meeting and Supper held in conjunction with the Upper Midwest Fjord Horse Show in Cedar Rapids, IA.. In 2010 the MWFHC celebrated their 25th anniversary in Blue Earth, MN.
The MWFHC is also proud to offer an educational video series. Our first video is entitled "How to Trim the Fjord Mane and Grooming Tips". Recently we have released our second video, "Fitting Tack to the Fjord Horse". Both videos are for sale on our website.
