The
NFHR offers a number of Awards Programs that NFHR members can participate in with their horses. The programs are intended to encourage members to have fun with their Fjords. Each award is $50 to enroll with the exception of the NFHR High Point Award, Hall of Fame Award and FEI Award, there is no charge. For the NFHR Year End Award, that fee is an annual $10.00. Members begin to accumulate the necessary "points" to complete the award. Register of Excellence:
This award recognizes outstanding Fjord Horses who have accumulated 100 points in halter and performance classes and gives these animals the formal recognition their achievements deserve. The award will be indicated by means of an E after the horse's name. Winners of the award receive a certificate and a trophy and are permanently listed by the NFHR.
Versatility:
This award encourages the use of the Norwegian Fjord Horse as a versatile, multipurpose horse by recognizing Fjord Horses who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in riding, driving and agricultural work. The award will be indicated by means of a V after the horse's name. Winners of the award receive a certificate and a trophy and are permanently listed by the NFHR.
NFHR Year End Awards:
Beginning in 2022 the NFHR will be offering annual awards for the multiple disciplines that our Fjords compete in. We will be awarding ribbons for 1st-6th place in each division as entries warrant. NFHR High Point Award:
This award encourages participation at an organized show where the classes are judged and Norwegian Fjord Horse(s) are participating. Qualifying activities include any show where classes are judged.
Hall of Fame Award:
The NFHR Evaluation process qualifies horses to receive an offspring award for recognition of the quality of a horse's offspring. HOF will be noted on the pedigree. To qualify the horse must meet specific requirements.
FEI Award:
This award recognizes outstanding Fjord Horses who have shown at the FEI level in one of the recognized FEI divisions. All Fjords that meet this requirement will be awarded a permanent FEI designation after their name in the Registry.
Hours of Fun with Fjords:
This award encourages the use of the Norwegian Fjord Horse as a useful, versatile and pleasurable riding, driving, and/or working horse by recognizing the number of hours that applicants use their horse or horses. Winners of the award receive various prizes depending on the number of hours they log with their horse or horses.
Driving Participation Award:
This award encourages the use of the Norwegian Fjord Horse as a driving horse for participation in organized driving activities. Qualifying activities include any ADS recognized event as well as events run by local driving or Fjord clubs; i.e., fun shows, pleasure shows, trail drives and picnic drives
USDF ALL-BREEDS AWARDS:
The NFHR is a participating organization with the USDF All-Breeds Awards. To qualify, the horse needs to be NFHR registered, owner and rider both current NFHR members.
